Our family decided that still pictures of the baby aren't good enough, so Mom and Dad Hieb bought a camcorder for us to capture all of Ellie's milestones. This is the Flip's maiden voyage, captained by Scott. We hope you enjoy!

Conference Weekend!

This weekend was Conference Weekend, when leaders from our church address us on television in four two-hour sessions on Saturday and Sunday. After so much television, Scott and I decided that we would go explore the wonderful outdoors. We attempted to drive the Alpine Loop, which is notorious for beautiful fall colors. We did enjoy beautiful changing leaves, but not without our fair share of hail, snow, and rain! We decided not to let the weather ruin our day, so we took a family picture before we left... Ellie was not so thrilled with the cold wet stuff falling on her face, so that was a short-lived endeavor. All in all, though, it was a great weekend!

So... I was making this awesome salsa with my blender, but the tomatillos wouldn't go down to the bottom to be blended, so I thought I could just use my trusty rubber spatula and shove them down there. But, alas, the blender ate my favorite kitchen utensil. As you can see, Ellie was pretty embarrassed for me. The good news is that the salsa turned out pretty well and I can always get a new rubber spatula. Thank goodness Macy's still carries my favorite brand: Martha Stewart!!

Background information about the S.S.A. express.
Stephanie and I meet while attending church in the 80th ward of the 125 BYU Stake of Zion. On the first day of Church I was in charge of taking pictures for the Bishopric so they could get to know the new members of the ward. It was basically love at first sight. I eventually asked Stephanie to go on a double date and we have been in love ever since. She may say that she loved me first, but she didn't have a mama bear telling her to wait until she was thirty to start dating. I have to go, but will fill in more as time moves on.

Eleanor Mckenzie Andreasen was born July 24, 2009. She was 7lbs. 12oz. and 19.5". Her interests include waking mom up at night, staring off in space for long periods of time, and occasionally smiling at mom and dad... but only after she's been coaxed into it. Ellie is the star of the family right now and we're so happy to have her!
