My mind as of late

Here are the things on my mind this fine Tuesday morning:

*Ellie is fitting into her shorts from last summer. Score!

*Baby Evelyn is fitting into Ellie's shorts from 2 summers ago. Double Score!

*My friend Amy introduced me to the movie Little Women a couple of weeks ago. I'll admit that I never read the book, but about half way through the movie and I was fairly committed to reading it in the near future. Then Laurie turned out to be the biggest dirt bag in the world and I lost all interest. Seriously, his proposal to Joe was so sweet and just because she wasn't ready yet doesn't mean he had to go to Europe and turn into a skank. And then Amy turned out to be a big dirt bag too, so I guess they deserve each other. Disgusting. But, as my friend Amy (not the back stabbing movie character) suggested, maybe if they hadn't cast such an old man as the professor that Jo finally falls for the movie wouldn't have been such a disappointment.

*We all had a little cold last week and Ev still has a cough from it, which as you can probably guess, keeps waking her up at night. Oh how I miss my baby  who slept through the night. Alas, I have been getting up frequently to put her back to sleep. And for some reason, I've also been having some pretty thrilling dreams. In the past two nights I've solved a baffling murder case and talked in Harry Potter code to my crime fighting partner, eaten dinner in the Great Hall with Fred and George, been the host of a travel show in Greece, and saved Ellie from some people who were trying to claim she was their daughter. I don't like to brag or anything, but I'm usually pretty awesome in these dreams.

*Spring has SPRUNG here in Dearborn. For real- its like in the 70s almost 80s here. That's great and everything, but someone pointed out that an early spring usually means a terrible mosquito season so.... yeah. I guess I'll be buying some bug spray.

And here's a picture treat for you to wrap things up:

And a video of when Ev rolled over for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I was pretty shocked because honestly, tummy time is not a high priority around here.

  1. I think that you will definitely have to read the book. Things had to happen the way they did, Jo and Laurie just weren't destined to be (unfortunately - I liked the match too). Remember the time period that they were written in too... norms were different then, the prof wasn't all that old lol. The book is also followed by Little Men and Jo's Boys which are great books in their own right and give you a little more insight into Jo and the professor. Definitely good reads :-)
