Never get between a man and his tools

Getting between my Grizz and his toolbox was exactly the mistake our poor bumper made last week. When Scott came home and announced that he was going to take off our bumper, I naively gave him the green light. He had to be kidding right? Wrong. A half hour later my husband was completely covered in dirt, grime, and general car yuckiness and our bumper was sitting in the living room. Awesome. Seeing as our bumper had been broken for a while now (I won't name names, but a certain red-haired brother might have had something to do with it...), I had my doubts about Scott's ability to fix it. But I kept these doubts to myself, (or at least I tried to) while Scott diligently turned to the best source at his disposal for automotive advice: youtube. After a night of tossing and turning and calling both our parents, Scott finally synthesized all of every one's ideas and, abandoning the prevailing idea of ordering a new bumper, decided instead to "bondo" it. When he told me about his plan, I think I was supposed to already know what "bondo"-ing meant... needless to say when Scott returned home from the automotive store with some realllll stinky glue/putty, I had a pretty good idea for what "bondo" was. And about an hour later, this is what I found:

Not too shabby, if I do say so myself. So what did I learn from this experience? Well, for one, bondo is not something that you want near your nostrils... ever. Second, my Grizz is one handy man. And third, you should think twice before letting a man get out his toolbox.
